"heres a new refix i did of one of my favourite soul/jazz jams. free download for y’all. RIP Weldon Irvine” - AstroLogical
I want to give a huge thanks to Devon Mussett from Lawn Party Films for bringing everything together and really make this all it could be. I’ve never been involved in such a production and it felt like a milestone for me.
I also want to say thank you to Inga Avedyan for capturing all these behind the scenes photos for us and the crew.
Peace to the cast, crew, extras and single piece of sushi I got to eat. I love you.
Look out for the video and solo A-Ro EP in the next few months.
LOVE and more love,
#SAFEFEST | October 10-13th
BESTiE present the first annual #Safe Fest! All proceeds will go to the Safe Amplification Society and The Music Tree to help raise money for the establishment of a permanent all ages live music venue in Vancouver.
Centred around the local music community, the festival aims to be an inclusive experience where access is granted to people of all ages to not only experience the live music scene but also to participate in it. Featuring a mix of under age bands as well as some of the city’s most established artists such as The Boom Booms, the goal is to promote a sense of ownership and participation in the culture that we all ultimately help to create. As well as live performances the festival will also feature workshops by community leaders. Access to the power of the live music experience should not hinge solely on whether one is old enough to order a drink in a bar.
An affordable and accessible pricing scheme is in place to allow anyone a chance to see shows. All shows at Astorinos, Red Cat, and Neptoon will be “by donation”. Cover for other showcases will range from $5 - $10 and full festival passes are $15. Passes are available online here or at Red Cat, Neptoon Zulu or Beatstreet.

“Truthseeker LP is the new full length album from Jellyfish’s own, AstroLogical aka. Nate Drobner. As the seventh solo release in his growing catalog, Truthseeker is a collection of hypnotic jazz/funk hip-hop beats, full of Fender Rhodes, subby basslines, Dilla-influences, and touches of psychedelia. The album is nearly entirely comprised of samples (with the exception of Passage), and features Vancouver rapper Kapok (of the Indigo Kids), and A-Ro of Elekwent Folk. Collaborations with fellow Jellyfish mainstay Nick Wisdom (of Potatohead People) & Denmark-based producer Galimatias also appear. Have a glass of absinthe (or whatever mind expanding tools you prefer) and enjoy the uniquely cosmic sounds that AstroLogical continues to consistently pump out. 2013 is looking bright already.”
